The NewCut project was developing and demonstrating new tools for mechanical weed control for annual and perennial weeds. The goal was to reduce the workload with regards to the removal of perennial weeds in organic crop production by 60%.

As part of the project, new control modules for cultivators were developed. These are more efficient at managing annual weeds. In addition a new concept machine for controlling perennial weeds with shallow roots and stolons was built. A long-term cooperation was initiated and within this forum the new technologies and the results were presented, allowing ongoing development and testing of the new tools for mechanical weed control.
